Iraq war was one of the terrible tragedies of the Middle East since 2003. . 103.000 civilian, 4.374 USA and 179 British soldier died. The problems as results of war still could not be solved. According to UNICEF’s reports , 40% of children in Iraq are not able to get clean water to drink and 2 million children in primary school age are disabled of getting education.

29 January 2010 was such an important day because of former president of England Tony Blair’s inquiry for Iraq war. Inquiry Chairman John Chilcot mentioned that it was not trail but only inquiry. Hence, he will not get penalty because of his decisions for war but he had to give an answer during 6 hours for why he decided England should go into the war.

According to Tony Blair, he did not regret because he had the responsibility for removing Saddam’s regime and for protection against his mass destruction weapons. He was a monster and a threath for not only for the region but also for the world. This war was to give message to other countries which have these weapons such as Iraq, Libya and North Korea. Their regimes should be ended.

Also, he mentioned that Saddam did not change after 9/11 but our ‘perception’ changed. In fact, this perception is the most important point for the persuation of public. There was no mass destruction weapons but the public opinion was shaped by this claim. The South was such a threath for West . The world is safe only if the South is under the control of the West as mandate. That is the modern version of orientalism. By this perception, a concrete reason for war is not necessary.
